WOMMO Lifetime Warranty Policy

At WOMMO, we design and manufacture modest performance wear with care, purpose and close attention to quality.

To support this commitment, WOMMO offers a voluntary Lifetime Warranty covering eligible manufacturing and workmanship defects that arise within the reasonable usable lifespan of the product.

What This Warranty Covers

The WOMMO Lifetime Warranty applies to manufacturing or workmanship defects that arise during the reasonable usable lifespan of the product.

Covered defects may include:

  • Faulty or defective stitching;
  • Seams coming apart prematurely;
  • Zippers, fastenings, drawcords or other hardware failing prematurely; and
  • Material or construction faults that prevent the garment from functioning as intended.

The existence of an issue does not automatically mean that the product has a manufacturing defect. WOMMO may consider the item’s age, condition, use and care history when assessing a claim.

What This Warranty Does Not Cover

This warranty does not cover damage, deterioration or other issues caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear, including fabric thinning, pilling, fading, stretching or loss of elasticity;
  • Accidents or external forces, including impact, falls, snagging, tears or pet-related damage;
  • Contact with abrasive or rough surfaces, including pool edges, rocks and concrete;
  • Frequent or intensive use beyond what may reasonably be expected for the product;
  • Failure to follow WOMMO’s published care instructions;
  • Gradual fading, discolouration, loss of elasticity or fabric deterioration resulting from chlorine, saltwater, UV exposure, sunscreen, body oils or other environmental exposure;
  • Mould, odours or stains caused by prolonged dampness, unsuitable storage or improper care;
  • Normal peeling, cracking or fading of prints, labels or logos through use, washing or ageing;
  • Alterations, modifications or repairs performed by the customer or a third party;
  • Incorrect sizing, fit preferences or change of mind;
  • Use of the product for a purpose for which it was not designed; or
  • Minor cosmetic variations that do not affect the function or reasonable use of the product.

Premature deterioration believed to result from a manufacturing or workmanship defect may still be submitted for assessment. WOMMO will determine whether the issue is consistent with a manufacturing fault or with ordinary use, ageing, care or environmental exposure.

Meaning of “Lifetime”

“Lifetime” means the reasonable usable lifespan of the individual product. It does not mean the lifetime of the purchaser or an unlimited period of coverage.

For WOMMO performance garments, the reasonable usable lifespan is generally considered to be up to two (2) years under regular use and when cared for in accordance with WOMMO’s published care instructions.

The actual lifespan of a product may vary depending on:

  • The type of product and materials used;
  • How frequently and intensively it is worn;
  • The conditions in which it is used;
  • Environmental exposure;
  • How it is cared for and stored;
  • The age and overall condition of the product; and
  • The nature and cause of the issue.

Each warranty claim will be assessed individually.

Eligibility

To qualify under this voluntary warranty:

  • The claim must be made by the original purchaser;
  • The warranty is not transferable to gift recipients, subsequent owners or purchasers of second-hand items;
  • The product must have been purchased directly from WOMMO;
  • A valid WOMMO order number or other acceptable proof of purchase must be provided;
  • The product must have been used for its intended purpose and cared for in accordance with WOMMO’s published care instructions;
  • The issue must fall within the coverage described in this policy; and
  • The product must not have previously received a remedy under this voluntary warranty.

Each product is eligible for one (1) claim under this voluntary warranty. A remedy provided under the warranty does not restart or extend the reasonable usable lifespan of the original product.

These limitations do not restrict any rights or remedies that may be available under applicable consumer law.

Sale and Final-Sale Purchases

Items purchased during storewide promotions or sales, and items marked as final sale, are excluded from WOMMO’s voluntary Lifetime Warranty.

This exclusion does not restrict any rights or remedies that may be available under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable consumer laws.

How to Make a Claim

To submit a warranty claim, please email hello@wommo.co and include:

  • Your original WOMMO order number or other acceptable proof of purchase;
  • Clear photographs showing the complete product and the specific issue;
  • A short explanation of when and how the issue occurred;
  • Relevant details about the product’s use and care; and
  • A short video demonstrating the issue, where reasonably requested.

Please do not return an item unless instructed to do so by WOMMO.

Claims will generally be reviewed within ten (10) business days after all requested information has been received. WOMMO may request additional photographs, videos, information or return of the product where reasonably necessary to assess the claim.

Failure to provide sufficient information or evidence may prevent WOMMO from approving the claim.

Assessment of Claims

WOMMO reserves the right to investigate and determine whether a claim meets the terms of this voluntary warranty.

When assessing a claim, WOMMO may consider:

  • The age and overall condition of the product;
  • The amount and type of use the product has received;
  • Whether WOMMO’s published care instructions have been followed;
  • The location, appearance and nature of the issue;
  • Whether the issue is consistent with a manufacturing or workmanship defect;
  • Whether the issue is consistent with normal wear, accidental damage, environmental exposure or misuse; and
  • Any other information reasonably relevant to the claim.

Submission of a claim does not guarantee approval. A claim may be declined where there is insufficient evidence of a manufacturing or workmanship defect or where the issue falls within an exclusion under this policy.

Where a claim is declined, WOMMO will provide a brief explanation of the outcome.

Available Remedies

If a claim is accepted under this voluntary warranty, WOMMO will determine the appropriate remedy and offer one of the following:

  • A replacement of the same product, subject to availability;
  • A replacement with a reasonably comparable product if the original product is unavailable; or
  • Store credit equal to the amount originally paid for the affected item, excluding original shipping fees, customs duties and taxes.

Cash refunds are not ordinarily provided under this voluntary warranty unless WOMMO determines otherwise or a refund is required under applicable consumer law.

The remedy offered may take into account the nature of the defect, the age and condition of the product, product availability and the circumstances of the claim.

Approved remedies will generally be issued within fourteen (14) business days of approval, subject to stock availability, payment of any applicable shipping charges and any required return of the original item.

Shipping, Customs and Duties

Please do not send an item to WOMMO without first receiving return instructions.

Unless required otherwise under applicable consumer law:

  • Customers are responsible for costs associated with returning an item for assessment;
  • If an approved claim is resolved by providing a replacement product, the customer is responsible for the shipping cost of sending the replacement product from WOMMO to the customer;
  • Customers are responsible for any international customs duties, taxes, clearance charges and related fees associated with the return or replacement;
  • Original shipping fees are non-refundable; and
  • WOMMO is not responsible for items returned without approval or contrary to the return instructions provided.

Any applicable replacement shipping charges must be paid before the replacement product is dispatched.

Where WOMMO is required under applicable consumer law to cover reasonable return or replacement shipping costs, those costs will be covered or reimbursed as appropriate.

Consumer-Law Rights

This voluntary warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies available under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and other applicable consumer laws.

Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.

Where applicable consumer law provides greater protection than this voluntary warranty, applicable consumer law will prevail.

Policy Changes

WOMMO may update or amend this policy from time to time. The version applying to a purchase will be the version in effect on the date the order was placed, unless applicable consumer law requires otherwise.
